Mind-'Blog'gling! *gasp*

THIS WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

Posted in Random Thoughts I feel you should know by imime0 on August 26, 2009

Not really. HAHAHAHAHA!!!! I got you so good with that title didn’t I? Anyways, I’m gonna review some books I just recently read. Maybe some TV shows and animes as well.

School's out forevermaxrideSaving the world and other extreme sports

1) Maximum Ride Series # 1, 2 and 3

I must say, the covers scare me slightly and I can’t make out the characters but you know what they say, You can’t judge a book by it’s cover. This is a beautifully written series about a ‘Flock’ of  genetically mutated bird kids (Max aka Maximum Ride, Fang, Iggy, Nudge and Angel) who are constantly on the run from a pack of genetically engineered men called Erasers. I read the manga for the books first and realized it wasn’t enough. I enjoyed the books a whole lot more then the manga though if you don’t like long books, the manga might be for you. In the books, some chapters are maybe one page long and others are like 4 pages long but you learn to love it. With plenty of twists and turns in plot you won’t want to put this book down. Trust me, I’m ultimately guilty.

Spygear

2) Spy Gear Adventures Series

After I finished this series I went back and read it a second time. This pack of books is about a group of suburban kids (Jake and Lucas Bixby, Cyril Wong, and Lexi Lopez) who find an abandoned warehouse full of spy gear (Hence the name, Team Spy Gear.) in the forbidden and untamed Stone ship woods. They take the gear and use it for their own spying then end up solving great mysteries that even had the Agency baffled. The author tends to go way off track and try to engage in conversation with the reader which I find hilarious. Even though these are geared towards the 9 and up age group I still love it.

ONTO THE MANGA/ANIME SECTION

Special A Vol 63) S.A. Special A (Anime and Manga)

I haven’t read all of the volumes but I am almost done with the whole season of anime on You Tube. This is about a girl name Hikari Hanazono who was trained by her dad in the expertise of wrestling. Until, one day Kei Takishima comes and beats her within in a minute. Now she convinces her father to enroll her into Hakusenkan so that she can beat Kei once and for all. She is admitted into the Special A group, a group of students with the top scores in their class. Here the students have the option of taking classes or not (Which most of them don’t, except for Hikari), special uniforms, and have tea time in a green house known throughout the school as “Paradise on campus”. Kei is always #1, at everything. (Some are skeptical about if he’s even human…), Hikari, #2, then the other members of the group, Jun, Megumi, Tadashi, Akira and Ryuu. It’s very entertaining.

Sgt. Frog Vol 1

4) Sgt. Frog (Anime and Manga)

This anime/manga is about an alien from Planet Keron who’s stranded on Earth. He becomes spotted by the Hinata Family and in exchange for a room he does household chores. Sgt. Keroro is supposed to be invading Earth but has become distracted by building Gundam Models (kind of like Bionicles), reading manga and other pleasures Earth has to offer. He later finds the rest of his platoon (Tamama, Giroro, Kururu and Dororo), but all thier invasion plans fail. This is a hilarious manga and anime that kept me reading and watching for hours on end.

ouran-high-school-host-club

4)Ouran High School Host Club

This anime/manga is about a girl named Haruhi Fujioka (who actually looks a whole lot like a guy) who stumbles upon the 3rd Music Room on her first day at Ouran Academy. When she opens the door rose petals fly out (I love it when that happens) and she comes face to face with the Ouran Host Club.(Tamaki Suoh, Hikaru and Karou Hitachiin, Kyoya Ootori, Mitskuni (Honey) Haninozuka, and Takashi (Mori) Morinozuka) After some shaky introductions, she attempts to escape but ends up breaking a vase is that was going to be in the school auction for a whole lot of money. (Can’t remember how much yen though) So she is forced to join the host club in order to pay off her debts. She begins to fit in with the rest of Host Club (Who’s goal is to make every woman happy).
